2013/2014 Goals

I'm behind and I haven't done a blog in forever, but I finally had a chance to review 2013 to see how it went:


2013 in Review….How did I do?

For 2013 -  Not in any order

My 2013 Goals (I prefer a GOAL)


  1. Continue writing freelance articles and blogs for extra money – Update blogs & articles once a MONTH.  – Nope only did 4 four the whole year. L 
  2. Exercise 4 times a week – Nope only 1 and a half times a week on average. L
  3. Continue outside hobbies including reading, recipes, crosswords, etc., and make time for them - even if it is only an hour a week. – Yes, done!
  4. Get scrapbooking photos caught up – Once caught up then big trips will be done with blurb/shutterfly type photo books. No, but I did get the remaining photos organized by date, place, etc. so I figure that’s ½ done. J
  5. Continue time for family and friends - schedule it on my planner. Yes J
  6. Continue taking better care of my skin, including washing my face at night. So so.  I had been doing good, but lately, not so much. :/
  7. Save up money to get the fence repainted. No, I had to get the roof repaired instead. 
  8. Pay off credit cards. NO L
  9. Be a flexitarian - eat fish at least once a week and do MEATLESS meal once a week! I did veg meals on average every week! :-D but I just don’t like fish that much, so I only ate fish about every three weeks.
  10. Get body fat below 30% - Nope, but I did lost 20 pounds, so I am closer!
  11. Read at least 5 books and keep record of them – only read 4 books.
  12. Continue donating time/money to charities - donate time or money at least an average of once a month. Yes!!!
  13. Continue trips and outings with Case - go some place on our Trip List at least quarterly! – Yes!!!!
  14. Read to Vivian at least 3 times a week. Yes!!!J
  15. Decrease my daily to-do list – so so.  A work in progress. 
  16. Be present in my activities and what I am doing right now - Be balanced in all endeavors. This is an ongoing (hard to measure) goal! But I’m going to say improved. 
  17. Do at 5k – hopefully two. DONE – Two 5ks!!!
  18. Take Vivian to swimming lessons. Done!!!
  19. Try to be the best mom I can be - Yes, this is the REAL number one on my list! – ALWAYS!!!
  20. Be more patient and forgiving.  A work in progress as well, but I think some improvement.
  21. Work on my spiritual goals; continue weekly study and try to make at least one assembly meeting, and continue reading Bible at least weekly (highlight favorite verses). Yes!
  22. Start weekly family study night- DONE
  23. Start weekly family game night - DONE
  24. Do one weekly project with Vivian (See to-do List) - DONE
  25. Plant a small garden for fresh veggies. - DONE
  26. Start using my Rosetta Stone for Spanish, and continue to learn some more Sign Language words.  No on Rosetta Stone, but have learned more Sign language.   
  27. Get my pile of old magazines caught up. Not done. L
  28. Buy a bicycle – Maybe next year?
  29. Start my monthly friend project list – Started but behind
  30. Finish and order my poetry book from Booksmart – Nope,
  31. Get at least 3 servings of fruits/veggies a day – DONE!

2014 GOALS!!!!

  1. Continue writing freelance articles and blogs – Going to try for once a month again 
  2. Exercise 3 times a week down (down from 4x)
  3. Get scrapbooking photos caught up.  However, this is on hold until #27 below happens
  4. Continue taking better care of my skin, including washing my face at night.   
  5. Save up money to get the fence repainted.
  6. Pay off credit cards.
  7. Be a flexitarian.  Shooting for more fruits and veggies, but I’m not going to track it like last year, see #15 below. 
  8. Get body fat below 30%
  9. Read at least 5 books and keep record of them
  10. Read to Vivian at least 3 times a week.
  11. Decrease my daily to-do list. I am decreasing my goal list, so that is a start. And I figure some personal traits/goals that are not exactly measurable I can track internally J
  12. Be present in my activities and what I am doing right now - Be balanced in all endeavors.
  13. Take Vivian to swimming lessons again this summer.
  14. Try to be the best mom I can be - Yes, this is the REAL number one on my list! 
  15. Be more patient and forgiving. 
  16. Work on my spiritual goals; continue weekly study and try to make at least one assembly meeting, and continue reading/highlighting Bible favorite verses.
  17. Do one weekly project with Vivian (See to-do List)

  23. Finish and order my poetry book from Booksmart
